Harold ‘Dave’ Davidson

Harold (Dave) Davidson of Terrebonne, Ore., passed away early Saturday morning July 18, 2009. He was 84 years old. There will be a graveside service held at Redmond Memorial Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009, in Redmond,Ore.
Harold was born at home in Ravenna, Nebraska, to George and Viola Davidson on Dec. 23, 1924. He graduated from high school in Cairo, Nebraska, and joined the Army on May 21, 1943, where he became a surgical tech. Before his discharge on Jan. 13, 1946, he had served in China, Burma, India, and North Africa. After his discharge he became a journeyman lineman and worked his way to the Northwest where he met Phyllis Maxine Binns in Goldendale, Wash. "Dave" and "Maxine" were married on July 28, 1951, in Coeur D' Alene, ID. They remained married for 47 years, when "Maxine" passed away in 1998.
Harold went to work for Pacific Power & Light Co. in 1952 and worked as a journeyman lineman, serviceman, and lineman representative in various parts of Oregon and Washington before his retiring in Redmond in 1991, after almost 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; a brother, Loyd; a sister, Janeen; a son, Rick; and a grandson, Jason. He is survived by two sons, David of Cottage Grove, Ore. and Lynn of Redmond, Ore.; two daughters; Nancy Davidson of Bend, Ore., and Linda Bowles of Burleson, Texas; one sister, Juanita Blaine of Whitney, Texas; 11 grand-children and 14 great-grandchildren.
Harold was an active member of the VFW Post 4108 and the American Legion. There will be a potluck dinner at the VFW hall, 1836 SW Veterans Way in Redmond at 2 p.m. Sat. July 25, 2009.
