Flag volunteers needed

Rodeo queen tryouts
Deschutes County Fair officials are accepting applications for the 2010 Rodeo Queen. Application deadline is 5 p.m., Sept. 4. The reigning queen will receive a $1,000 scholarship and represent Deschutes County at all tri-county rodeos, and host, attend and assist with various Deschutes County Fair events in 2010, among other duties.

New ladies choir
Harmony 4 Women, a new seasonal chorus, is seeking women and teens of all levels of vocal experience to sing as part of an a cappella chorus in two holiday performances Nov. 21 at Summit High School in Bend. Harmony 4 Women will feature a chorus of female vocalists singing four-part harmony. Weekly rehearsals begin Sept. 28 at the Redmond Senior Center and continue every Monday evening through Nov. 16.
