Strange science exhibit
The High Desert Museum last week unveiled a new science exhibit, Strange Matter. From playing with magnetic liquids to bouncing ball bearings on metal plates, the hands-on exhibit delves into the world of materials science. All ages can explore the structure of exotic and ordinary materials, and discover what creates these intriguing, remarkable properties. The High Desert Museum is located approximately three miles south of Bend on Highway 97. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Tryouts for teen musicians
The High Desert Chamber Music is conducting auditions for Spotlight Chamber Players. One-season commitment required. Open to string players in grades six through 12. Participation includes bi-monthly chamber group coachings, chamber music performances and complimentary admission to the High Desert Chamber Music Series at the Tower Theater in Bend.
