Denis William McMenamy

Denis died on December 17, 2009. He was born May 24, 1933, in Oakland, Calif., to proud parents William and Mable Schroeder McMenamy.
Denis served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.
He met and married Dorothy J. Taylor in 1994 in Reno, Nev. He worked as an assistant manager for the BLM in Medford and Eugene, retiring in 1985, and then moved to Redmond, Ore., in 1987. He had many hobbies; a history buff, loved old movies, fishing, camping, and of course the Player Piano's "Automated Music". His love of player pianos and ragtime music led to his player services business to support his collection of musical instruments and rolls. One of his greatest pleasures was rebuilding a player piano and getting it to play, then seeing the happy faces of his customers.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Redmond; daughters: Sue (Dick) Watson of Lakewood, Colo.; Nancy Rhea of Central Point, Ore.; Margaret (Gary) Apenes of Talent, Ore.; Laura (Kevin) Fitzsimmons of White City, Ore.; Trisha (Jeff) Deazille of Central Point, Ore.; stepchildren Gary (Ann) Taylor of Enumclaw, Wash.; Rob (Kim) Taylor of Bend, Ore.; Debi Taylor of Eugene. Ore.; brothers, Jim McMenamy of Fremont, Calif., and Gene McMenamy of Santa Rosa, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and former wife, Hazel Barry.
Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Redmond, Ore.; Private burial has taken place at Deschutes Memorial Gardens, Bend, Ore. Contributions can be made in his honor to your charity of choice; American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.

Nellie Lucille (Curtis) Moss

Nellie Lucille (Curtis) Moss died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, December 27, in Sisters, Oregon
There was a public viewing at Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home December 30. Funeral services were held January 2 at Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Chapel with a private burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Bend.
She was born January 3, 1937, to George F. Curtis and Genvieve L. (Nesbitt) Curtis. In 1946, George moved the family to Sisters while working for Brooks Scanlon Logging. She married Alvin B. Moss on March 5, 1955, and they raised their family of four in Sisters.
Nellie was a homemaker and loved spending as much time as she could with her grand-kids. Her hobbies included crocheting mostly blankets for all the grand-kids, reading and family time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Art Moss. Nellie is survived by her three daughters, Carole Choin and husband Dean of Madras, Virginia (Ginger) Offield and husband Mark; Carmen Foss and husband Rick of Sisters. Surviors also include 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren & one great-great-granddaughter.
She is also survived by lifelong friend and travel partner Judy Stubbs.
