Get early-bird pricing for Sisters folk fest
Sisters Folk Festival Inc.  has announced a new pre-sale ticket offer for this year’s festival.
Ticket buyers who take advantage of early-bird pricing, available through July 31, will automatically be included in a drawing to be held during the festival. The winner of the drawing will receive a package containing: 2011 festival T-shirt,  blanket,  Hydro Flask water bottle, 2011  poster, two all-event passes to the 2012 Sisters Folk Festival, and two tickets to the 2011 Winter Concert Series show of his or her choice.
Festival goers who have already purchased tickets will be included in the drawing.
The all-event pass includes entry to all performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Early-bird passes are available for $85 through July 31, then the price increases to $95.

Hear swing music at the Riverhouse
The Riverhouse in Bend invites you to put on your dancin’ shoes and join in the fun every second and fourth Sunday of the month. Swing Sundays with Betty Berger Big Band are scheduled for: July 10, 24, Aug. 14, 28, Sept. 11, 25, Oct. 9, 23, Nov. 13, 27, and Dec. 11, from 6 to 9 p.m.
There is a $7 cover charge per person. Crossings dinner and lounge menus will be available throughout the evening.

St. Charles Family Care in Redmond is offering activities to help you and your family stay healthy this summer.
July 11-15 is mental health week, with an introduction to Dr. Kim Swanson.
July 18-22 is activities week. Learn where to hike and bike in Central Oregon and myths about exercise and eating healthy.
July 25-29 is diabetes week, with free glucose testing and seminars.
In addition, on July 16 there will be a bike/walk through the Dry Canyon; a Dry Canyon wildlife trek July 23; and a Smith Rock hike Aug. 27.

Parent orientation for sports leagues
Redmond Area Park and Recreation District reminds parents that PAYS (Parent Association for Youth Sports) Orientation is required for parents of every sports league participant to complete prior to registration.
This 45-minute orientation is designed to educate and motivate parents to create a youth sports environment that is safe, positive, meaningful and fun for all involved. PAYS training is good for two years.
RAPRD offers free orientation. One will be offered Thursday, July 14, at 6:45 p.m. at the RAPRD Activity Center. If unable to make one of the classes, PAYS  is available online for a $6 charge at http://paysonline.nays.org.
NAYS (National Associates for Youth Sports) Coach’s Clinic is required for all coaches. This coach’s clinic is for Pre-K to fourth grade.
All coaches are required to fill out a coach’s volunteer form and consent to a background check. This is a free clinic.

The registration deadline to sign up to be a part of the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of The Secret Garden is July 8.
Auditions will be held Aug. 8 for children in grades one through 12, and two performances will take place on Saturday, Aug. 13. Four assistant directors are needed, ages 12-18. There is no fee to participate. Contact RAPRD at 541-548-7275 or www.raprd.org for more information.
