August’s Bounty – Slow Food High Desert’s 3rd annual Farm to Table Dinner will be held at Maragas Winery in Terrebonne on Aug. 14 at 5 p.m.

All games are played at the High Desert Sports Complex on Saturday with one or two prac tic es per week depending on the volunteer c oac hes’ sc hedules. RAPRD provides players with shirts; parents need to provide shin guards and soc ks.

'Hard Times’ at BendPAC seeks c ast
Bend Performing Arts Center (BendPAC) will hold auditions Aug. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., for its first c ommunity produc tion on the MainStage in September. Three males and three females will be c ast.
BendPAC will be presenting an adaptation of the famous Studs Terkel book “Hard Times.” Using an all c ommunity c ast, “Hard Times” will be the kic koff of a c ommunity-wide series of events BendPAC is orc hestrating in c onjunc tion with Redmond High Sc hool, foc using on the theme “Triumph of the Human Spirit.”
“Hard Times” looks at Depression-era Americ a through the eyes of the people who lived it, and demonstrates how our spirit brings us together, neighbor helping neighbor, and allows us to persevere through the most diffic ult of times.
Auditioners may bring their own prepared monologue or c old read piec es from the play. Portions of the sc ript will be available at the theater during the week leading up to the audition.
