Motorcycle rally returns to region
Run to the Cascades Motorcycle Rally is coming to the Crook County Fairgrounds Sept. 8-11.
The last time the rally took place was 10 years ago, just a couple of days after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Aaron Myhra and Fonzie Productions Inc. have acquired the rights to the event and centered the event around remembering the lives lost on Sept. 11, and the lives of military personnel who have stood watch over the U.S. for centuries, and to celebrate American freedoms.
The Run to the Cascades Motorcycle Rally is a weekend event with camping/RVs, great local and regional music all day Friday and Saturday, professional MMA cage fights, biker barrel racing, a mechanical bull, car smash and Metal Mulisha, just to name a few.
Several destination rides are planned to points of interest throughout Central Oregon. Saturday morning there will be a Sept. 11 memorial ride, with a goal of having motorcycles representing every soul lost that day, as well as every Central Oregon soldier killed in action since.
Advanced tickets are available now at www.runtothe
cascades.com. Tickets will also be available at participating locations, as well as the Prineville Chamber.
Local businesses are encouraged to participate. Many sponsorships and vendor booths are available. If interested in this event visit www.runtothecascades.com or contact Nancy Wirth at 541-610-9046 or nancy@wirth-associates.com.
