Doris Ruth Beckley Rasmussen
Nov. 1, 1934 - Sept. 24, 2011
Doris Ruth Beckley DenHerder Rasmussen, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, September 24, 2011, due to congestive heart failure. She was 76 years old.  She was surrounded by her loving family, from near and afar, and in addition, many people were there in spirit.
Doris was born on November 1, 1934, on a large cattle ranch in Princeton, Oregon, to Charles and Gladys Beckley. This ranch was homesteaded by Charlie's family nearing a century earlier. Doris had two sisters, Marianne Ami, (Bill Morris) and Patsy Cronin (Harvey), and the three of them had a grand time running around the ranch, riding horses, herding cattle, playing music and attending schools in Crane, Oregon. It was a good life and she had great fun.
She attended nursing school after graduating high school as Valedictorian, thereafter beginning an almost 40-year career in nursing. She was a caring and extremely competent nurse living in South Dakota and then Oregon pursuing her career.
She married her first husband, Bob DenHerder (deceased) in 1954, and had four children, Cindy Palmer (Nat), Scott DenHerder (Wendy), Bob DenHerder (Dana), and Randy DenHerder. These children all went on to become loving adults, due to Doris' kind touch. Doris has nine grandchildren, Jessica Ballentine, Sean and Ryan DenHerder, Garrett, Kelsey, Dakota and Bryndl DenHerder, Heather, Justin and Whitney DenHerder and several great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews which she loved very much.
Doris married Rass Rasmussen in 1987 in Lebanon, Oregon, and they both lived and worked in Albany until retiring to Central Oregon in 1997. Doris touched more lives with her love, including step-children, Jerry Rasmussen, (Natlie), Phyllis Wilber, (Steve), Diane Harrell, (Ron), and Dale Rasmussen, and three  step-grandchildren Jerry Wilber (Melinda) and Kindle and Genna Rasmussen plus several great grandchildren.
Doris loved camping and hunting, traveling, visiting her children and grandchildren, bird-watching and shopping.  She was active in Eastern Star, becoming Worthy Matron in 1985. She volunteered may hours at the Redmond Senior Center during her retirement.  She loved her faith in Jesus and enjoyed attending the Zion Lutheran Church in Redmond.  Everyone she touched remembers her kind smile, sweet attitude and her generous spirit. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, and brother-in-law, Gene Ami. Her children ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Meals on Wheels.
Memorial Services were held Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Zion Lutheran Church,

Dixie Wagaman
July 20, 1933 - Sept. 27, 2011
Dixie Wagaman died September 27, 2011, in Bend, Oregon.  She was born on July 20, 1933, in Larned, Kansas, to Clyde and Marian (Williams) Wright. Dixie married Gene Wagaman on September 17, 1951, in Hastings, Nebraska. They moved to Redmond in 1965, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, canning and playing slot machines.
Dixie is survived by her sons, Robert Wagaman of Buffalo, NY, and Gail Wagaman of Tracy, CA; daughter, Connie Tittle of Redmond, OR; brother, JR Wright; and several grand- children, nieces and nephews.
 Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, and a brother and a sister.
Funeral services were held at Redmond Memorial Chapel on Friday, September 30, 2011, with burial at Redmond Memorial Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice House Partners In Care. Please sign our guestbook at http://www.redmondmemorial.com/
