Cookbook to help the hungry
Bend’s Community Center (
BCC) re

create a fundraising opportunity
centered on food and
community, in keeping with its mission,
BCC is publishing “Sage in the Kit

cookbook will be produ

Preorders for “Sage in the Kit

“We wanted to design a new way to bring in the funds we need to feed the hungry,” said Taffy Gleason, exe
cutive dire
ctor of Bend’s Community Center, in a news release. “It was important to us to
create a proje
ct that would bring our
community together around food. Food is a key part of our mission and a basi
c human need, but eating food is also a sour
ce of pleasure, how we
celebrate milestones and strengthen important relationships. It just made sense to move in this dire
ction, and we are thrilled to work with the very best partners to make this happen.”
The Feed the Hungry program
currently provides over 1,200 meals every week to the hungry and homeless and
BCC provides an additional 100 meals daily to low-in

citizens, five days a week.
